Friends Center Seeks to create a vibrant, generative, welcoming campus climate as it pertains to religious and spiritual life at Guilford College. Rooted in the Quaker tradition, Friends Center staff oversee multifaith collaboration, spiritual renewal, and Quaker studies.
C. Wess Daniels (Director)
Wess serves in the role that most would see as the “campus chaplain,” he reports to President Jane Fernandes and is a part of her Cabinet. He is very interested in both building a strong and authentic Quaker ethos at Guilford, while also growing and strengthen the religions and spiritual life of the campus as a whole through interfaith collaboration.
Wess is directly responsible for:
1. Cultivating a Quaker ethos on campus and helping nurture it in the wider community (off campus).
2. Offering spiritual/pastoral care to anyone on campus seeking it.
3. Working with and supervising Friends Center staff in their work leading the Quaker Leadership Scholars Program, on and off-campus Quaker Programming, and the Interfaith collaboration.
4. Maintain the strength of Friends Center through effective communication and fundraising

Evelyn Jadin ’06 (Multifaith Coordinator & Campus Chaplain)
Evelyn feels a call to accompany people in their spiritual lives. In particular, she loves holding space for people to explore Spirit through the use of expressive arts and spiritual practices. Evelyn graduated from Guilford College and received her Masters of Divinity from Earlham School of Religion. Over the years Evelyn has served in various ministerial roles at different Quaker organizations including Friends Center at Guilford College, First Friends Meeting Greensboro, and Jamestown Friends Meeting. Currently, she is serving as a Core Teacher and the Program Coordinator for the “On Being a Spiritual Nurturer Program” of the School of the Spirit Ministry. Evelyn lives an hour north of Greensboro in Hanging Rock State Park, where her wife, Mary, serves as a Park Ranger. They live with their goofy, loving dog Gracie, and their two equally grumpy and silly cats named Pesto and Jezebel. For fun Evelyn enjoys quilting, hiking, resting, playing with her nieces and nephews, canoeing, and traveling around the country with Mary and Gracie in their small Airstream trailer.
